I've done some research, Sam. It seems that teenagers these days enjoy the use of abbreviations, even adults too. I checked Facebook (or as the young say, FB) Maybe learning such abbreviations and speaking their slang would help me in communicating with them? Especially in cases involving young witches. The two of you don't seem popular in that area.
